Costly Bisons' errors and strong Buccaneers pitching led to a 14-3 loss for the Bisons on Saturday, March 11. The loss dropped Lipscomb to 0-2 in conference play.

Matt Schnelly got the start for the Bisons. Schnelly came into Saturday's game with a 2-0 record after dominating the opposition in his previous two starts. Schnelly threw a three-hit shut-out against Pittsburgh on February 26. In his next start, at Florida A&M he allowed four runs in 8.2 innings to win the Bisons fifth game of the season.

The Buccaneers struck first in the top of the first on a two-run single by C.J. Lee.

The Bisons got one of the runs back in the bottom of the inning. Brewer led off with a single up the middle. After Patrick O'Rourke struck out, Brewer advanced to second on a balk and would move to third on a passed ball. Nathan Sensing walked with one out. Ryan Mitchell followed with an RBI ground out to second to bring home the run.

The Buccaneers took advantage of three Bisons' errors in the fourth to stretch their lead to 6-1. Four unearned runs crossed the plate spelling the end of Schnelly's day. In four innings Schnelly gave up six runs, two earned on seven hits. He struck out three.

East Tennessee scored two more runs in both the fifth and the sixth innings to give the Buccaneers a commanding 10-1 lead.

The Bisons added two more runs of their own in the bottom of the seventh to bring the score to 10-3.

With two outs Justin Sanders doubled to left field. Ryan Price followed with an RBI single to left. The next batter, Preston Embrey also singled to left to complete the scoring for the Bisons.

Three more Buccaneers runs crossed the plate in the eighth to stretch their lead to 13-3. The Buccaneers scored their final run in the top of the ninth on an RBI single by Lee.

Sanders and Brewer led the Bisons offense with two hits a piece.

The Bisons finish out their series with ETSU tomorrow, March 12. Freshman right-hander Josh Smith will get the 1 p.m. start for Lipscomb.
