DeLand, Fla. - The Lipscomb Bisons evened their Atlantic Sun series with Stetson with a 7-5 come-from-behind win Saturday afternoon at Melching Field.Stetson opened the scoring in the second inning with a pair of home runs _ a two-run shot by Brian Pruitt and a solo homer by Chris Johnson. The Bisons fought back with a big hit of their own as David Becker hit a solo home run to left field with two outs in the third inning to trim the lead to 3-1. Stetson came back with two more runs in the fifth inning to take a 5-1 lead. The Bisons, as they have done on a number of occasions this season, were able to rally for the win. In the fifth inning Zac Miller lead off with a single to left field followed by a single to left from Caleb Joseph. Designated hitter Ryan Price stepped to the plate and slammed a three-run home run over the left field fence. Heading into the sixth inning the Bisons were down 5-4. With one out Patrick O'Rourke started things off with a walk. Ryan Mitchell singled up the middle followed by a walk to Miller. Joseph singled to left to bring home O'Rourke and Mitchell. Price was hit by a pitch. Whit Reed put down a sacrifice bunt to third to score Miller. Mitchell added a double in the eighth inning, but the Bisons didn't score another run. He had three hits in four at-bats as the Bisons pounded out eight hits against three Stetson pitchers. Matt Schnelly started on the mound for the Bisons. He pitched four innings, giving up six hits and five runs, all earned. He walked four and struck out three. Charles Williams shut down Stetson over the final five innings, allowing only five hits while walking two and striking out one. He picked up his first win of the season. In Friday's series opener the Bisons fell 9-0 despite an 11-hit attack. The Bisons head into Sunday's final game of the series with an 11-10 record, 4-4 in the conference.
