The Bisons clinched the number one seed in the conference tournament on Friday, despite dropping the series to Campbell 2-1.
In game one, the Camels struck first, plating a run against Bisons' starter, Mike Dunn in the first inning.
The Bisons evened the score at one in the fourth on an RBI single by Blake Bratcher. However, the Camels got to Dunn again in the bottom of the inning, scoring three runs in the fourth, and four in the fifth.
Right-hander, Matt Bowling relieved Dunn with one out in the sixth, before allowing two runs of his own for a 10-1 Camels lead.
The Bisons got a run back in the seventh on a solo homerun by Shane Simpkins and added three more in the eighth, one on a sacrifice fly by Bratcher and two more on a two-run double off the bat of Justin Sanders.
Dunn received the loss to drop to 4-4. In 5.1 innings, he gave up eight runs, seven earned, on ten hits while striking out two in the 10-5 loss.
In game two of the double-header, right-hander Josh Smith got the Bisons back on the winning track with a complete game effort.
Caleb Joseph got the Bisons on the board in the first with an RBI fielder's choice. Bratcher added another run with a groundout to second.
Jorge Gutierrez made the score 3-0 in the fourth with an RBI sacrifice fly. However, the Bisons' offense was not done, adding two more runs in the eighth on singles by Gutierrez and Joseph and another in the ninth on an RBI fielder's choice off the bat of Branden Cadavid.
Smith allowed the Camel's only run in the ninth. In nine innings, he gave up just one run on six hits while striking out a season high 12 to earn the win and improve his record to 2-3.
With the 6-1 win, the Bisons finished the regular season with a record of 28-27 and 19-14 in the conference.
