College baseball pitchers transition from reliever to starter all the time.
It's a bit more unusual to see one pick up a bat and lead his team with a .348 average as the designated hitter slotted third in the order.
Richie Goodenow has reinvented himself at Lipscomb in his final college season. The Vanderbilt transfer, who has specialized in getting out fellow left-handers in the late innings, is now a starting pitcher and the best bat in Lipscomb's lineup.
