MILWAUKEE — It wasn't long ago the Rockies had delusions of adequacy. They were trying to convince themselves and the public that mediocrity was appealing.
They have long since shed that thinking. The 2007 World Series and 2009 playoff berth changed everything, namely the frame of reference on personnel decisions.
The days of allowing prospects and projects to clumsily figure it out has ended. Thanks for coming, Franklin Morales. Here's your parting gift. Same to you Felipe Paulino, designated for assignment Saturday night. By all accounts, Paulino is a good guy, but he's not a good enough player to be on this team — not if the Rockies want to win the National League West or grab a wild-card berth.
It's past time in the local pastime to promote Triple-A reliever
Rex Brothers. Perhaps you've heard of him. His legend is growing like Paul Bunyan in the remote mountain wilderness of Colorado Springs.
