Left-handed relief pitcher Rex Brothers was named the rookie of the year for the Colorado Rockies by the Denver chapter of the Baseball Writers' Association of America.

Brothers was 1-2 with a 2.88 ERA in 48 relief appearances.  He struck out 59 in 40.2 innings.

Brothers was selected by Colorado with the 34th pick in the 2009 draft.
