JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Looking to keep pace in the Atlantic Sun Conference race, the Lipscomb baseball teams heads to North Florida this weekend for a three-game set against the Ospreys at Harmon Stadium in Jacksonville.
Fresh off three-straight A-Sun series wins, the Bisons (16-17, 8-4) face a North Florida (21-15, 4-8) squad that got off to a slow start in league action but 2-of-3 at ETSU last weekend.
Senior right-hander Connor Sinclair (4-2, 3.35 ERA) will head to the hill on Friday night for Lipscomb against UNF southpaw Michael Renner (3-3, 4.97 ERA). Saturday will see a matchup between Lipscomb lefty Blake Fonfara (2-3, 4.98 ERA) and North Florida righty Kyle Westwood (2-2, 5.74 ERA).
LU senior Josh Cotham (3-2, 2.60 ERA), who ranks sixth among A-Sun starters in ERA, will make his ninth start of the season on Sunday. The Ospreys have not announced a Sunday starter.
Along with the solid starting pitching, the Bisons look to rely on the steady defense that is tied for the league lead in fielding percentage (.979) with Stetson, who has played three fewer games.
All three games are scheduled to be broadcast by UNF’s broadcast team on ASun.TV
