ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – On the heels of being named a 2013 Eastern League All-Star and winning the home run derby, former Lipscomb baseball standout Caleb Joseph has been named the 2013 Topps/MiLB Player of the Year.

A two-time, first-team All-Atlantic Sun Conference standout for the Bisons, Joseph hit .299 with 22 home runs and 97 runs driven in for the Bowie Baysox, the class Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.  Joseph’s 97 RBIs were the most by any player in the Orioles minor league system leading to him also being named to the Orioles Organizational 2013 All-Star team by MiLB.

The Nashville native led the Eastern League this season in total bases (256) and finished second in RBIs.
