Lipscomb basketball guard Brandon Barnes asked for and was granted a release from the Bisons.  He intends to transfer to Cal State Bakersfield to play for his father, Rod Barnes.

Barnes, a 6-3 product from Chapel Hill High School in Douglasville, Ga., averaged 6.4 points and 3.6 rebounds as a freshman for the Bisons last year.   He redshirted during the 2009-10 season.
