For the first time since March 1948, the Lipscomb Bisons and the No. 24-ranked Murray State Racers meet on the basketball court Thursday at 7 p.m. at the CFSB Center in Murray, Ky.
It will be the fifth and final meeting of the season between the Bisons and Ohio Valley Conference opponents. Lipscomb won the first three meetings before falling 89-87 in overtime at Tennessee Tech Saturday. Sophomore Robert Boyd (23) and junior college transfer (21) both had career scoring highs for Lipscomb who led 38-30 at halftime.
Alexander was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Newcomer of the Week for the week of Dec. 6-12. It was the third straight week that a Bison was honored with the award. He averaged 15.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in two games last week while shooting 61.1 percent from the floor and 60 percent the 3-point line.
Murray State is off to a 10-0 start. The Racers defeated Memphis 76-72 Sunday evening. Lipscomb plays at Memphis Monday. Isaiah Canaan leads Murray Sate averaging 19.8 points per game.
