DELAND, Fla. – Wrapping up a three-game Atlantic Sun Conference road swing, the Lipscomb men’s basketball takes on Stetson at 2:15 p.m. at the Edmunds Center in a contest that airs on ESPN3.
The Bisons (7-10, 2-4 A-Sun) look to make it four-straight wins against the Hatters (8-10, 5-2 A-Sun), who sit atop the A-Sun standings. Both teams are coming off league wins on Thursday night with Lipscomb downing Florida Gulf Coast 87-78 in overtime while Stetson topped Northern Kentucky 71-59.
The only team in the league with four scorers in double figures, Lipscomb continues to be paced by redshirt freshman center Stephen Hurt, who notched his league-leading, sixth double-double of the season on Thursday night against FGCU. Hurt is averaging 12.1 points per game and a league best 8.4 rebounds per game. After a career-best 29-point game against the Eagles, senior guard Deonte Alexander has moved into second place tie on the scoring chart for the Bisons with an 11.6 point per game average. Sophomore forward Malcolm Smith is also averaging 11.6 points per game, just ahead of twin brother Martin, who rounds out the double figure scorers for LU with a 10.4 point per game average.
The Hatters are led by Adam Pegg,who is averaging 15.7 points per game overall and 17.3 points per game in league play. Teammate Chris Perez is adding 15.4 points per outing against conference foes and 14.3 points per game overall.
Along with the broadcast on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app, the game is set to air on 102.5 The Game with the Lyons Chevrolet, Buick, GMC “Drive to the Game”at 2 p.m.
