The Game

The Lipscomb University Bisons travel to Martin, Tenn., seeking their first road victory of the season as they face the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Elam Center.

Lipscomb plays four of its nine non-conference games against Ohio Valley Conference schools.  This is the first meeting between the two schools since UT Martin defeated the Bisons 99-90 in Allen Arena on Dec. 7, 2002.  The Skyhawks lead the overall series 12-9.

Lipscomb lost to No. 12 Baylor Monday evening 72-60 in Waco, Texas.  Junior forward Jordan Burgason paced the Bisons with 15 points.  Baylor’s length proved too much in the paint  and LaceDarius Dunn hit four threes in a two-minute stretch to open the second half creating an insurmountable lead.  Dunn finished with seven 3-pointers.

UT Martin fell to No. 14 Memphis on Tuesday 102-80.  Senior guard Reuben Clayton led the Skyhawks with 20 points and 10 rebounds.  Clayton is the leading scorer for UT Martin at 19.8 points per game and leading rebounder at 6.8 boards per contest.
