The Lipscomb cross country teams participated in the Vanderbilt Invitational at Percy Warner Park Saturday.
The Bisons finished third out of eight teams in the 8K with a team time of 2:16:20.99 and a score of 100. They had five runners in the top 25.
Junior Ryan Chastain won the men’s race with a time of 26:23.65.
Also finishing in the top 25 for the Bisons were freshman Nathan Brame in 16th place with a time of 27:18.57, junior David Wolfe in 21st with a time of 27:31.27, freshman Benton Reed in 22nd with a time of 27:33.11, and freshman Trace Carlson in 23rd with a time of 27:34.39.
The Lady Bisons finished fifth out of eight teams in the 5K with a team time of 1:34:44.95 and a score of 103.
Lady Bisons had three runners in the top 25. Freshman Ashley Lehman led Lipscomb placing ninth with a time of 18:59.47.
Sophomore Caitlin Anderson placed 17th with a time of 19:24.60 and senior Erin Pyles finished 24th with a time of 19:36.55.
Both teams will travel to Loyola University in Chicago, Ill., next weekend for the Loyola Lakefront Invitational on September 27.
