Sunday, August 28, 2005 Aug. 28, 2005 Lipscomb's Bisons soccer team closed out the exhibition portion of the season with a hard-fought 2-1 loss to visiting Vanderbilt University Saturday night. Vanderbilt took a 1-0 first half lead at the 41:50 mark when Brian Mascarenhas scored on a penalty kick. The Bisons tied the game at 59:23 in the second half when Roland Borys took a pass from Ben Page and drilled it high into the net with a line drive shot from more than 20 yards out. Vanderbilt's game-winning goal was scored by John Krause at 66:15 of the second half. Bisons goaltender Jake Goergen made five saves. Vanderbilt goaltender Eric Steen made one. |
