MACON, Ga. - Lipscomb's Danny Prichard earned Atlantic Sun Defensive Player of the Week honors as announced by the league office on Monday.
Prichard blanked Western Kentucky on September 14 for his second straight shutout. The freshman is the only goalkeeper in the A-Sun with two shutouts. For the year, the Tacoma, Wash., native leads the league in shutouts and total saves while ranking second in goals against average. Pritchard is majoring in pre-Physical Therapy.
This is the second time this season a Bison has been named player of the week in men's soccer. Ben Page has been honored as Offensive Player of the Week. Kezi Lara was a runner-up for the award.
The Atlantic Sun Conference hands out offensive and defensive Player of the Week awards weekly during the 2006 soccer campaign.
The 12-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, UNF and Stetson with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate beginning competition in 2007-08.
