MACON, Ga. - Lipscomb's Danny Prichard became a repeat winner of the Atlantic Sun Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honor as announced by the league office on Monday.
Prichard blanked Belmont in the A-Sun Match of the Week to help hand Lipscomb an early victory in the Battle of the Boulevard. The freshman recorded his league-leading third shutout of the season. For the year, the Tacoma, Wash., ranks second in shutouts per game and third in both saves and in goals against average. Pritchard is majoring in pre-Physical Therapy.
This was the second time this season that Prichard has earned the award.
The Atlantic Sun Conference hands out offensive and defensive Player of the Week awards weekly during the 2006 soccer campaign.
The 12-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, UNF and Stetson with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate beginning competition in 2007-08.
