Bisons open the season at Bradley Tournament

The Lipscomb Bisons soccer team opened the season at the Bradley Holiday Inn City Centre Classic Friday and Saturday in Peoria, Ill.

The Bisons lost 2-1 to host Bradley Friday night and 2-0 to Eastern Illinois Saturday.

Senior forward Ben Page, an Atlantic Sun Preseason All-Conference selection, and senior goalkeeper Jake Goergen were named to the All-Tournament team.

In the Easrtern Illinois game Goergen made six saves. The Bisons managed on three shots on goal with Miguel DaSilva credited with two and Jeff Boynton getting one.

In the season opener against host Bradley the Bisons fell behind 1-0 in the first half, but came back to tie the game in the second half on an unassisted goal by freshman Angel Chairez at 46:04.

Joe Donoho scored for Bradley at 76:05 on a penalty kick for the game-winning goal.

Goergen made three saves in the game. Page led the Bisons in shots on goal with two.
