Bisons finish as runner-up in Gamecock Classic

The Lipscomb Bisons closed out the Gamecock Classic in Columbia, S.C., Sunday afternoon with a 2-0 loss to host South Carolina.

The Bisons, 1-1 in the tournament, finished as runner-up. Senior forward Ben Page was named the tournament's Offensive Most Valuable Player. Also named to the All-Tournament team were sophomore forward Josh Inglebright and senior goalkeeper Jake Goergen.

South Carolina scored both of its goals in the first period with Blake Brettschneider scoring at 24:40 and J.L. Moon finding the goal at 25:59.

The Bisons made nine shots, including three shots on goal. Page led with two shots, neither on goal. Freshman forward Miguel DaSilva, Ricardo Atti and Inglebright each had one shot on goal.

South Carolina made 19 shots, including 11 shots on goal.

The Bisons are 1-5. South Carolina is 4-2.
