LIPSCOMB BISONS (1-0-1) vs. MARSHALL THUNDERING HERD (2-3)

THE GAME: The Bisons are coming off a 1-0 win over Oral Roberts Friday night in the Belmont Invitational. Marshall beat the host Bruins 4-1.

Marshall also has a 3-1 win over IUPUI. Marshall has been shut out in all three of its losses.

This is the first time the Bisons have faced Marshall in men’s soccer.

GOALS ARE SCARCE: The Bisons have one goal in each of their two games. Andrew Chamberlain scored in the 1-1 tie with Berry to open the season. Freshman Alexander Faulk scored his first collegiate goal in the win over Oral Roberts.

MCGEE IN GOAL: Brent McGee has been the starter in goal for both games. He has one shutout and has only allowed one goal.

DASILVA HONORED: Junior forward Miguel DaSilva has been honored as the Atlantic Sun Preseason Player of the Year.

DaSilva was also named to the Preseason All-Conference Team.

LARA EARNS PRESEASON HONOR: Senior defender Kezi Lara also was named to the Atlantic Sun Preseason All-Conference Team.

THE GANG’S ALL HERE: The Bisons are missing only one starter from last season, defender/midfielder T.J. Williams who graduated.

THE POLLS, THE POLLS: The Bisons were selected to finish third in the Atlantic Sun Conference in the preseason poll of coaches. They also received one first place vote. It is the highest preseason conference ranking for the Bisons in the NCAA era.

WHAT’S NEXT: The Bisons will be on the road Sept. 11 and 13 in the University of Michigan Tournament. They face Michigan State on the 11th and Michigan on the 13th.
