NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Looking to continue their two-game unbeaten streak, Lipscomb women’s soccer hosts a match-up of Nashville flavor on Thursday, Sept. 6, with a 7 p.m. Trevecca Nazarene visits the Lipscomb Soccer Complex for the first meeting since 2000.

In that meeting, Lipscomb’s first year of NCAA play, the Lady Bisons garnered a 6-0 victory over the Trojans.

Lipscomb is coming off a 2-2 draw last Friday against Chattanooga. LU got on the scoreboard when Karli Crosby made a cross from the goal line that Molly Bray picked up and placed in the back of the net. The Lady Bisons second goal came just 19 seconds after Chattanooga tied the score at one piece. Baylee Linnell took the ensuing kick-off, weaved through the defense to score the goal.

The Lady Bisons had arguably their best offensive output to date against Chattanooga, tallying 15 shots with six on target. The two goals tied for a season high, which was also achieved in the opening season match against Jackson State.

Senior goalkeeper Erin Zerio is making a name for herself, leading the conference with an .839 save percentage and tied for the league lead with shutouts.

The Trojans from Trevecca Nazarene enter the contest 0-2-0 having played Mount Vernon Nazarene and Southern Nazarene. An affiliate of the National Christian College Athletic Association and a member of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, TNU is led by Brooke Gann who scored eight goals last season and has six shots. Haley Foutch has scored the lone goal of the season for the Trojans, in their 3-1 loss to Southern Nazarene.

Following Thursday’s match, the Lady Bisons travel to Martin, Tenn. to take on Tennessee-Martin on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m.
