NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Kicking-off Atlantic Sun play, first-year head coach Kevin O’Brien and his Lady Bisons soccer team will face North Florida and Jacksonville on Friday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. respectively at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.

The Lady Bisons enter A-Sun play 2-4-2 after having their game last Monday with Tennessee Tech canceled due to heavy rain. Previously, LU fell 1-0 at Alabama State after controlling the contest with 21 shots. Molly Bray and Caroline Chadwell each had four shot attempts but were unable to find the back of the net.

For the season, Chadwell leads the team with 31 shots while Bray has three goals. Goalkeeper Erin Zerio has 45 saves, ranking second in the A-Sun, to go along with a .804 save percentage and 1.30 goals against average.

Picked to finish fourth in the A-Sun, North Florida enters 2-6-1 and coming off a 3-1 loss to nationally-ranked Central Florida. Thea Linkfield leads the Ospreys with three goals while Carolina Lencina has two goals and three assists. Using three goalkeepers on the season, Rachel Beninati has received the bulk of the minutes accumulating 32 saves and a save percentage of .711 in seven starts.

Jacksonville enters the weekend 3-4-1 and plays at Northern Kentucky prior to Sunday’s match. Last season’s regular season champion, the Dolphins were picked to finish second this season. Sarah Moghadas and Becca Weckhurst each have two goals for JU. Goalkeeper Jill D’Amico has 18 saves to go along with a .621 save percentage.

Both contests can be found on Asun.tv.

Following the opening weekend of A-Sun play, Lipscomb travels to Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson on Friday, Sept. 28 and Sunday, Sept. 30 respectively.
