FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Lipscomb men’s basketball team continues Atlantic Sun Conference action on Thursday night at 6 p.m. looking to snap a 9-game home winning streak by Florida Gulf Coast.
The Eagles (12-7, 4-2 A-Sun) sit tied atop the A-Sun standings alongside Jacksonville and Stetson.
Lipscomb (6-10, 1-4 A-Sun) is led by redshirt freshman center Stephen Hurt, who is the top leads all rookie centers nationally with 131 rebounds. Hurt is averaging 11.8 points per game through 16 games for LU. Sophomore forward Malcolm Smith is right behind Hurt with an 11.3 point per game average. Deonte Alexander and Martin Smith are also scoring in double figures for the Bisons scoring 10.5 and 10.4 points per game, respectively.
FGCU is led by Bernard Thompson (14.3 ppg) and Sherwood Brown (14.2 ppg).
