Friday, April 12, 2013

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Lipscomb men’s and women’s tennis teams are set for home matches tomorrow with against the University of North Florida.

The Lady Bisons will look to close out the regular season strong, while the men’s team will honor the squad’s seniors.

Seniors Tanner Brown, Colby Shaw and Oliver Strecker will be honored during the match.

Lipscomb coach Andrew Harris commended the seniors on the men’s team for their efforts during their time as Bisons.

“These guys have been here from the beginning,” Harris said. “They really have established a new standard. When they came in, the program had only won one league match.

“And, they’ve gone from eleventh to fourth in the league, which just says a lot about their character and what they’re about and buying into the whole picture of the program,” Harris said. “I think that them raising the new standard only sets a new standard for the next guys that come in.”

Harris said the teams plan to play strong, hoping to honor the seniors with a good win.

“We’ll be looking forward to a lot of energy tomorrow for the UNF match – a lot of excitement,” Harris said. “It will be a good match, it will be a good crowd and we’ll look forward to bring in our best for them for sure tomorrow.”

The women’s team tips off at 10 a.m., and the men’s team tips off at 2 p.m.
