NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Win. That is all the Lipscomb women’s soccer team has to do to create even more history in an already history-filled year.

Holding the sixth and final spot in the Atlantic Sun Conference standings, the Lady Bisons are in control of their own destiny and a win Friday against ETSU and a win against USC Upstate Sunday guarantees a first-ever berth into the A-Sun Championships.

A win Friday and a draw or loss by North Florida also gives the Purple and Gold a spot in the tournament.

ETSU enters 6-8-2, 2-4-1 in the A-Sun but has not won a game since Oct. 6 when the Buccaneers beat Kennesaw State 2-1. Since then ETSU is 0-3-1.

The Buccaneers are led by Sarah Zadrazil who ranks second in the A-Sun with 25 points. She has scored seven goals and assisted on 11 more. Kristi Davis co-leads the squad with seven goals.

Jasmine Elliott has played in 10 games at goalkeeper amassing 45 saves and a 1.85 goals against average.

Sunday will be a celebration of the four seniors on the team, Callie Cavanaugh, Martika Powe, Kelsey Reiman and Stephanie Romero, as the Lady Bisons battle USC Upstate who is 4-9-3 and 1-5-1 in the league.

The Spartans picked up their first conference victory of the season last Friday with a 1-0 victory over Jacksonville. USC Upstate has scored nine goals this year led by Kenzie Major and Haley Gethin, each with two. Major leads the team with six points.

Sarah Plantz, the preseason goalkeeper of the year, leads the A-Sun with 96 saves. She owns a 1.92 goals against average.

Lipscomb freshman Ellen Lundy has two games left to bolster her campaign for freshman of the year. The Rogers, Ark., native has an A-Sun leading 29 points and 13 goals, both of which are Lipscomb school records for a season. Lundy is also tied for the school record for goals scored in a career.

Freshman goalkeeper Anna Buhigas has set a school record and is tied for the league lead with six shutouts this year. She is second in the league with 93 saves and second with a .83 save percentage.

Junior Baylee Linnell is tied for sixth with six goals and is fifth with 17 points.
