Chris Burnett, a right-handed pitcher from Wellington, Fla., has signed to play baseball for the Lipscomb University Bisons.
Burnett, 5-foot-11, 170 pounds, played last season for Palm Beach Community College in West Palm Beach, Fla. He was 3-1 with a 3.60 earned run average in 60 innings this past season. He struck out 37 batters and walked eight.
He lettered two years in baseball at Wellington Community High School. He was captain of the baseball team his senior season. He was also named "Pitcher of the Year" for his high school team. His best high school record is 4-2 with a 2.92 ERA with 32 strikeouts and four walks in 40 innings his senior season.
Chris is the brother of Sean Burnett, who has pitched on the Major League level for the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.
He is the son of Annibal and Richard Burnett.
Chris plans to major in Business Management.
