Macon, Ga. - The Atlantic Sun Conference announced the women's basketball all-academic honorees on Tuesday with Lipscomb topping the list with 10 members earning honors. A total of 58 A-Sun women's basketball student-athletes received recognition.

Three-time all-academic champion Belmont was second amongst women's basketball teams with eight honorees, while Stetson finished third with seven. Ten of the eleven A-Sun member institutions had at least four student-athletes earn at least a 3.0 GPA during the fall semester.

Gardner-Webb had six student-athletes named to the team this year, while UCF and Troy each finished with five. UCF is also the top seed heading into this week's Coca-Cola A-Sun Women's Basketball Championship. The event will be held in Dothan, Ala. from March 10-12 for the second consecutive year.

To be named A-Sun All-Academic, a student-athlete must achieve a 3.0 or higher GPA in the classroom. Belmont is the three-time defending champion of the all-academic trophy, which is given to the institution with the greatest percentage of student-athletes receiving honors.
