Lady Bisons Lose 3-0 At IUPUI

The Lipscomb Lady Bisons soccer team closed out its trip to Indiana Sunday afternoon with a 3-0 loss at IUPUI in Indianapolis.

Bethany Copeland started in goal for the third straight game for the Lady Bisons who fell to 0-4 on the season. Copeland recorded three saves.

IUPUI was credited with 24 shots, 11 in the first half and 13 in the second. Lipscomb had three shots in the first half and two in the second..

Six of the IUPUI shots were shots on goal. Three of Lipscomb's shots were shots on goal with midfielder Laurie Babcock, forward Sarah Hennum and Kali Rellinger each making one shot.

Midfielder Angie Pilat scored the only goal of the first period at 17:14.

In the second half Stacy Downing scored twice for IUPUI. She stole a goal kick for her first goal at 51:23 and then put in a shot after long throw at 86:40.

IUPUI made six corner kicks. The Lady Bisons did not have a corner kick.

The Lady Bisons do not play again until Sept. 13 when they travel to Birmingham, Ala., to face Birmingham-Southern at 6 p.m.
