Lipscomb University golf coach Buddy Harston is in Hutchinson, Kans., this week to participate in the U.S. Senior Open Championship.
Practice rounds are underway at Prairie Dunes Country Club. The tournament begins Thursday, July 6, and continues through Sunday, July 9.
Harston, 54. will be starting his first season as head coach of both the men's and women's golf teams. He plans to continue to participate in Senior events in addition to his coaching duties.
Harston is a PGA teaching professional. He tied for 13th in 2005 at the Callaway Golf PGA Senior Open.
Harston is playing in a group that also includes David Lundstrom from Houston, Texas and Jimmy Hill, an amateur from Tulare, Calif.
Harston will tee-off Thursday at 9:05 a.m. and Friday at 2:20 p.m.
ESPN2 will televise a preview show from 430-5p.m. Wednesday. Thursday and Friday ESPN will televise from 1-5 p.m. NBC will televise Saturday and Sunday's rounds from 2-5 p.m.
