The Lipscomb Bisons 2007 golf season came to a close Wednesday in the Atlantic Sun Championship at The Gold Club at Sanctuary Cove in Waverly, Georgia.
The Bisons improved in each round of the 54-hole tournament. Lipscomb shot 333 strokes in the first round, 314 in the second, and 306 in the final set of 18, for a total of 953 strokes. They were 101 strokes over par on the par-71 course.
Freshman Clint Suggs lead the Bisons finishing with a 22-over 235. After shooting an 83 in the first round, he improved to 75 in the second and finished with a 77. He had five birdies on the tournament. Suggs finished tied for 30th in the field of 50.
Taylor Lewis finished tied for 37th shooting a 27-over 240. After 84 strokes on the first 18 holes, Lewis settled down and fired a 78 on each of the last two rounds. He had six birdies over the three days.
Cory Parkinson and Dustin Lynch ended the tournament shooting 29-over and 30-over, respectively. Parkinson had three birdies to finish with a 242 (82-83-77) tied for 41st place. Lynch chipped in six birdies on his way to finish at 243 (87-82-74) tied for 44th place.
Andrew Green rounded out the Lipscomb squad with a 34-over 247 (84-79-84). He finished tied for 48th. Green had two birdies.
