With the men's victory over Belmont earlier in the day still fresh in their heads, the Lady Bisons played their heart out wanting their own victory in the "Battle of the Boulevard."
After ninety minutes of solid play, Lipscomb fell to the Lady Bruins by a score of 1-0. With the loss, the Lady Bisons fall to 1-11 overall and 0-3 in Atlantic Sun Conference play. Belmont, currently tied for first in the A-Sun Conference, improved to 7-1-4 overall and 2-0-1 in the conference.
"I am proud of my players for putting their heart into the game," said Lipscomb Coach Jenger Parrish. "It was a disappointing loss, but we showed strong composure offensively by controlling the ball well and our defense showed strong improvements."
Lipscomb goalie Katie Shelton recorded eleven saves giving her a season total of 108.
Jen St. Clair scored the lone goal in the game for Belmont with 10:14 remaining in the first half. She was assisted by Lauren Uremovich and Emily Buckner.
The Lady Bisons travel south this week for a Thursday match at Stetson (DeLand, FL) and a Saturday match at Mercer (Macon, GA). The next home game is Thursday, October 12 at 7:00 PM.
