It was all about the power for the Lady Bisons.
With Kim Jacobson shutting down Princeton on the mound, the Lady Bisons pounded 10 hits on the way to 4-0 win over Princeton, the second win in as many days over the Ivy League school at the Stetson Invitational in DeLand, Fla., Saturday afternoon at Patricia Wilson Field.
The Lady Bisons scored three of their four runs on home runs. Jacobson improved her record to 5-7. She gave up six hits, walked one batter and struck out six.
Calli Jo Varner, 3-3 took the loss for Princeton. In addition to scattering 10 hits she also gave up four runs, three earned. She walked one, hit four batters and struck out four.
In the second inning the Lady Bisons scored two runs. Abby Keese got things started with a solo home run to left. She has four home runs in the tournament and eight for the season. Kristie Sirus came up later in the inning with bases loaded and drove in a run with a single.
The Lady Bisons raised their record to 15-15. Princeton, the loser of five straight games, fell to 9-14. The Lady Bisons beat Princeton 4-3 Friday afternoon.
The tournament concludes Sunday.
