Lipscomb's Lady Bisons softball team lost both ends of a non-conference doubleheader Tuesday night against Western Kentucky at Draper Diamond on the Lipscomb campus.
The Lady Bisons lost game one 3-0 and fell 6-4 in the nightcap.
Freshman right-hander Christen Campbell pitched a complete game in the opener, allowing only one earned run on six hits by Western Kentucky. She struck out five and walked one.
Errors proved costly to the Lady Bisons with three miscues in the infield in the fourth inning contributing to two runs by Western Kentucky.
Campbell came back in the nightcap and pitched six innings, giving up four runs, all earned on 11 hits. She struck out four and walked one.
Samantha Little relieved in the seventh and gave up two runs on two hits while also walking two in her first pitching appearance of the season.
The Lady Bisons scored two runs in the fourth inning. Davidson reached base with an inning opening walk. Leigh Little singled to left. Davidson then stole third base. She scored on throwing error by the catcher. With two outs Lauren Dortwegt drove home Little with a double to center.
In the seventh Kristie Sirus singled to left field with two outs.. Heather Collins hit a two-run home run to left center with two outs. Kellie Sirus reached base on an fielding error by the left fielder. Campbell flied out to right field to end the game.
The Lady Bisons slipped to 23-22-1 overall. Western Kentucky is 23-23 overall.
Wednesday afternoon at 2 the Lady Bisons will face Tennessee Tech in a non-conference doubleheader at Draper Diamond.
