Lipscomb's Lady Bisons split an Atlantic Sun Conference doubleheader Saturday afternoon, winning the opener 5-0 at Campbell University and losing the nightcap 1-0 in nine innings.
The doubleheader at Buies Creek, N.C. closed out the A-Sun portion of the schedule for the Lady Bisons.
Freshman right-hander Christen Campbell pitched both games, giving her 22 complete games for the season. She also recorded her fourth shutout of the season. Campbell is 16-12 overall.
It was the 12th home run of the season for Collins, who also has a team-leading 50 runs batted in.
The Lady Bisons closed out the scoring in the fifth inning. Collins opened the inning with a walk. Abigail Craig entered the game as a pinch-runner for Collins. Kellie Sirus doubled to right center to score Craig.
The Lady Bisons connected for 11 hits in game one. Dortwegt led the way with three. Collins and Christen Campbell each added a pair.
Christen Campbell held the Fighting Camels to five hits in game one. She walked two and struck out seven.
In game two Christen Campbell scattered 10 hits, but did not allow a run until there were two outs in the ninth inning when the Fighting Camels hit back-to-back doubles.
In 8 2/3 innings Christen Campbell struck out four and did not walk a batter.
Brittany Stanley pitched a complete game for the Fighting Camels. She gave up four hits, walked two and struck out four.
The Lady Bisons are 24-24-1 overall, 9-8-1 in the conference.
Campbell is 25-37-1, 6-10 in the A-Sun.
