Lipscomb tennis coach Lynn Griffith has announced the signing of Kara Jackson to play next season for the Lady Bisons.
Jackson, from Dayton, Ohio, is a highly-honored student-athlete on many levels. She played high school tennis at Vandalia Butler.
She was Most Valuable Player on her high school team as a sophomore, junior and senior. She was team captain as a junior and senior. She was named to the All-District first team as a freshman, sophomore, junior and senior. She was also an All-Region first team selection as a junior and senior. She was district qualifier all four years. She finished second at the sectionals as a freshman, sophomore and junior and was first her senior year. She was also Player of the Year in her conference.
In USTA Junior Team Tennis in the 14-and-under division she first in the sectional and second in district competition.
Jackson is also a well-rounded student. She has been a member of the National Honor Society as a junior and senior. She has been on the honor roll every quarter throughout her high school career. She is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Future Educators of America.
"I decided to attend Lipscomb because I wanted a Christian school where the students lived out their beliefs," Jackson said. "I found that at Lipscomb."
She plans to major in elementary education.
Her parents are Eileen and Larry Jackson. Her father is a tennis professional and operates his own indoor tennis facility.
