The Lady Bisons volleyball team closed out the regular season schedule with a 3-1 loss Tuesday night at the Eblen Center at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville.
The Lady Bisons won the opening game 390-27 and then lost 30-25, 2028 and 37-35. The final game score was the highest for the Lady Bisons or one of their opponents this season. The Lady Bisons ended a two-game winning streak against Ohio Valley Conference teams.
For the season the Lady Bisons were 4-3 against teams from the OVC this season.
Ann Mullins made a match-high 35 digs, her fifth match with 30 or more digs this season. Lindsey Rutherford added 25, earning the double-double. Samantha Sullivan was credited with 19 and Grace Gilmore chipped in with 10.
Erin Lynn led Tennessee Tech with 14 kills. Jessica Apslund and Laura Tyburski both had 12.
Katie Kenline led Tennessee Tech with 34 digs. Kappy Lang made 18. Tyburski finished with 16 to earn the double-double,
The Lady Bisons are the No. 3 seed in the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament which is scheduled for Nov. 17 and Nov. 18 at Belmont University. The Lady Bisons will play Mercer, the No. 6 seed, in the opening round. The winner plays Belmont, the No. 2 seed later in the day on the 17th.
The Lady Bisons finished the regular season with a 13-16 record overall, 6-3 in the conference. Tennessee Tech is 12-15 with an 8-5 OVC record.
