Friday, March 07, 2008 March 7, 2008 Nashville, TN - The Lipscomb softball team went up against powerhouse Tennessee Tech from the OVC, and managed to take two hits from them, but were unable to avoid the 7-0 shutout Friday night in the fourth game of the War Eagle Classic in Auburn, Alabama. Sophomore center fielder Lauren Dortwegt and senior first baseman Heather Collins each scored a hit for the Lady Bisons. Dortwegt also picked up a stolen base. Sophomore Abby Keese did not pick up a hit and ended her hitting streak at 12 games. The last time she did not get a hit was against Georgia Tech on February 10. Sarah Street picked up the win for the Golden Eagles, pitching all seven innings: allowing two hits and striking out six. The Lady Bisons fall to 6-9 and play host team Auburn University at 10:00 AM tomorrow morning. |
