Sophomore shortstop Abby Keese went three for three today and hit two solo home runs to lead the Lady Bisons to a 4-2 win over Mercer in Atlantic Sun action Saturday. It was her thirteenth and fourteenth of the season and tied her single season record set last year.
Keese hit her first home run in the second inning over the center field fence off a 2-1 pitch. The Bears would tie the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the inning.
Lipscomb took the lead in the top of the third of an RBI triple by sophomore center fielder Lauren Dortwegt to score sophomore second baseman Megan Rottler. Dortwegt scored two batters latter on a wild pitch.
Mercer would add one more run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Keese picked up her second home run in the top of the sixth off the first pitch of the at bat.
Including Keese's three hits, the Lady Bisons picked up a total of eight hits including two from Lauren Dortwegt who went 2 for 4 on the day.
Senior Kim Jacboson earned the win striking out five and allowing only one earned run. It was her fourth win of the week.
The Lady Bisons are 23-21 overall and 12-5 in the A-Sun.
