Former Lipscomb catcher Caleb Joseph has been named to the Class A All-Star team as a member of the Fredrick Keys, the advanced Class A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. Joseph has batted .300 or better each month of the season.

The Bisons moved to within one game of their second A-Sun Tournament Championship and their second trip to the NCAA Tournament Saturday afternoon when Branden Cadavid singled to shallow right field to score Antonio Butler with the game-winning run in a 5-4 decision over ETSU. Campbell scored eight unanswered to take the lead but the Bisons scored two in the bottom of the 9th for a 12-11 victory.

Former Lipscomb University shortstop Jorge Gutierrez was promoted to the Omaha Royals, Class AAA affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, Monday. Gutierrez signed a minor league contract with Kansas City in June and was assigned to the Rookie-level Burlington (NC) Royals where he was batting .233.
