This weekend the Bisons traveled to Cookeville, Tenn. to play Tennessee Tech.
"This was a good opportunity for us to get in more matches before the spring time. Tennessee Tech is going to be a very strong team in the OVC this year and would probably be one of the better teams we would be matched up against in the spring time,” said Coach Andrew Harris.
Mario Hernandez closed out well; winning his doubles match with Daniel Hangstefer. The duo defeated Dean O’Brien & Josh Grilling 8-6.
Hernandez also was the lone winner for Lipscomb in the singles match; defeating James Crawford 6-4, 1-6, (10-8).
“I think Mario Hernandez did a great job of closing out his match in the afternoon. This will be a great confidence booster for him heading forward into the spring. We had some other opportunities that we could not capitalize on and I think the guys will learn from their experience and begin to realize that they have the ability to win those tight matches against quality opponents like Tennessee Tech," said Harris.
