Tuesday, January 26, 2010John Craig was looking for a Senior Seminar project in 1990, and Lipscomb and Belmont were about to play a basketball game.
The Lipscomb undergraduate decided to design posters and T-shirts to promote the game, which he felt not only needed more hype, but also a name. Belmont and Lipscomb had played since the 1950s.
He considered the proximity of the two schools located three miles apart on Belmont Boulevard and went with The Battle of the Boulevard.
