Paul Hembree played tennis for Lipscomb from 1939-1941. At the proud age of 89, he has the honor of being one of Lipscomb's oldest athletes. Retired and living in Brentwood, Paul recently visited with Andy Lane, Executive Director of the National Bison Club to reminisce about his athletic days at Lipscomb.

Eight Lipscomb University athletic teams received perfect NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores and twelve teams exceeded the national average for private schools in the latest report issued Tuesday by the NCAA.

The NCAA honored Lipscomb University's women's basketball, women's golf and women's tennis teams Tuesday with a Public Recognition Award for their high marks academically. These awards are given each year to teams scoring in the top 10 percent in each sport, based on their most recent Academic Progress Rates.

Lipscomb women's tennis coach Andrew Harris has announced the signing of Ksenia Pronina and Jenny Borck to National Letters of Intent. Pronina, a native of Germany, and Borck, of San Diego, Calif., will both start class at Lipscomb in the fall 2011 semester.

The Lady Bisons closed out their season Saturday afternoon with a disappointing 5-2 loss to Atlantic Sun rival Belmont on Senior Day at the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center. The Lady Bisons finish the season 3-14 overall and 2-8 in the A-Sun.

Jamie Aid is returning home…again. She attended Samford University for one year in Birmingham, Ala., but returned to her hometown of Nashville to play tennis for Lipscomb University. After being away from Lipscomb at Ensworth High School for the past five years she returns to campus as the new women's assistant tennis coach.

Lipscomb University Athletic Director Philip Hutcheson has announced that Andrew Harris will become the new women's tennis coach for the Bisons athletic program. Harris also serves as the men's tennis coach and as the director of the Lipscomb Racquet Club.
