Macon County's Carter will play golf for Lady Bisons

Lipscomb University golf coach Buddy Harston has announced the signing of MacKenzy Carter from Macon County High School.

Carter, a native of Lafayette, Tenn., has served as team captain of her high school team from 2007 through 2010.

In 2008 she was fourth in the district and played in both the region and state tournaments.

As a senior she was District Champion, second in the Region Tournament and District 10-AA Player of the Year. Carter finished third in the TSSAA State Tournament, the first individual girls golfer from her high school to finish in the top five in the state. Carter was also named a third team All-Midstate member by the Tennessean.

Carter has also been an academic star. She finished in the top 10 of her graduating class.

Her high school club memberships included the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Business Leaders of America, the Interact Club, Beta Club and the Student Council.

She is the daughter of Dana and William Carter.
