In their first trip back to the Lone Star State since losing to UTEP in the 2006 NIT, the Lipscomb University Bisons (2-1) face the No. 17-ranked Baylor Bears (3-0) Monday night at the Ferrell Center in Waco, Texas at 7 p.m. central time.
This is the first meeting between the two schools. The Bisons are 0-5 against Big 12 schools with losses to Kansas State (twice), Missouri, and Nebraska (twice).
Lipscomb enters the contest with a 104-101 come-from-behind overtime victory against Austin Peay Thursday evening. Senior forward Adnan Hodzic led the Bisons with 33 points and 16 rebounds while senior guard Josh Slater posted 22 points and Jordan Burgason added 19 on five threes. Slater made a layup with 0.1 seconds left to force overtime and Hodzic scored eight points in the extra period to secure the Bisons victory.
Baylor defeated Jackson State Thursday afternoon 63-49. Freshman Perry Jones paced the Bears with 20 points and eight rebounds. Baylor hit 23 of its 25 attempts from the free throw line and shot 52.9 percent from the floor. Guard LaceDarius Dunn, Baylor’s top scorer last year, returns from a three-game suspension to face the Bisons.
Lipscomb is 0-4 all-time against ranked opponents. Lipscomb is set to play three ranked opponents in the 2010-11 campaign: No. 8 North Carolina (Nov. 12 - Lost 80-66); No. 17 Baylor (Nov. 22); and No. 19 Memphis (Dec. 30).

Freshman Robert Boyd and Brandon Barnes have made immediate impacts for the Bisons with their athletic guard play.

Junior guard Jordan Burgason has hit a three-pointer in 40 consecutive games dating back to Feb. 14, 2009. Burgason’s streak is the longest in the country.
Ole Miss’ Chris Warren snapped a 46-game consecutive streak when he went 0-for-4 from downtown on Nov. 17 against Murray State.
