Bisons open golf season with first round tie for eighth

The Bisons’ golf team is tied for eighth after the first day of the Frito Lay/AT&T Intercollegiate hosted by Jackson State at the Dancing Rabbit Golf Course in Choctaw, Miss.

The Bisons are tied with McNeese State in the 17-team field with a team score of 318. Mercer leads the tournament with a score of 295. It is the season opener for the Bisons.

Kyle Wittler is tied for 15th place with a score of 76 (39-37).

Blanton Farmer fired an 80 (41-39) to place him in a tie for 36th.

Dustin Wilder and Ryan Terry are tied for 39th with 81s. Wilder shot 39-42 and Terry fired a 40-41.

Brandon Mundie is tied for 49th with an 82 (42-40).
