Bisons still searching for runs in Ole Miss series

The Lipscomb Bisons were shut down for the second straight game in their three-game series with the Ole Miss Rebels.

Saturday afternoon at Oxford-University Stadium the Bisons fell 3-0 to Ole Miss. All three runs were scored in the seventh inning.

Lipscomb right-hander Connor Sinclair, 1-2, started the game and last 6.1 innings. He gave up four hits and two runs. He also struck out five batters.

Reliever Ben Johnson allowed one run and two hits in one-third of an inning. Chad Fromm and Chris Nunn closed out the game for the Bisons. Nunn struck out four batters in 1.1 innings.

Five different Bisons had a hit _ M.L. Williams, Lee Wilson, Richie Goodenow, Josh Chism and Kyle Henry.

The Bisons close out the series Sunday at 1:30 with right-hander Dannie Strable (2-1, 4.86 earned run average) taking the mound.

The Bisons are 7-8. Ole Miss is 12-4.

Wednesday night the Bisons will continue their games against Southeastern Conference teams when Mississippi State visits.
