Cancun Challenge organizers announced today that tournament passes will be available for this fall's Division I men's basketball event played in Cancun, Mexico.
All-tournament game admission passes are on sale to the general public for games played at the Moon Palace Resort in Cancun. The all-tournament pass costs $250 and provides general admission entry to all eight men's basketball games played in Cancun. Individual session passes are also available for $80/day for the Mayan Division and $90/day for the Riviera Division.
The Cancun Challenge features eight men's Division I college basketball teams and includes eight games played in the U.S., and eight games played at the all-inclusive Moon Palace Resort. The field is headlined by Illinois, Illinois State, Richmond and Rutgers in the Riviera Division. The Mayan Division features Hampton, Lipscomb, Sacred Heart and SIU Edwardsville.
"The Cancun Challenge is a unique event for college basketball fans. It gives them an opportunity to get an up-close look at their favorite NCAA team while enjoying an all-inclusive setting at the beautiful Moon Palace Resort," said Cancun Challenge Official Melissa Koza. "You can catch a game, hit the beach, and eat at one of 14 exceptional restaurants, all while never leaving the confines of the resort."
Fans are encouraged to purchase fan travel packages through Triple Crown Sports. Packages include tickets with priority seating for all games. To purchase single tournament passes or complete fan travel package, contact Melissa Koza by email or by calling her at (970) 672-0567.
Fans not staying at the Moon Palace Resort (or another Palace Resort property) will be charged a resort day pass fee of $20 per day. The day pass fee is in addition to the tournament pass and is assessed by the Moon Palace Resort due to its all-inclusive nature. The day pass gives fans access to food and drink only at the arena during games. An all-inclusive day pass is available for purchase providing fans access to all amenities at the Moon Palace Resort. All-inclusive day passes are $88 per day.
The Cancun Challenge is owned and produced by Fort Collins, Colo.-based Triple Crown Sports, which also organizes women's college basketball tournaments in Cancun, and the Preseason and Postseason Women's NIT.
