HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – Closing out the 2011 fall slate the Lipscomb men’s golf team finished 14th with an 888 (+25) in the “F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate” in Hopkinsville, Ky.
The tournament was paced by host Austin Peay winning the tourney in a two-hole playoff on the final round turning in a score of 839 (-25). Jacksonville State would follow in the team standings in second place with a score of 848 (-16).
The Bisons were led by Nate Johnson who tied for 47th with a score of 221 (+5). Following Johnson was Blanton Farmer who tied for 53rd with a 222 (+6). Ryan Terry (223,+7), Dustin Wilder (224, +8) and Nathan Mueting (229, +13) rounded out the participants for Lipscomb.
Austin Peay’s Marco Iten won the individual honor with a (-8) after a two-hole playoff on hole number 10 and 11 where he faced Drew Aimone from Samford who finished also at an (-8) in second place.
This tournament wraps up the Bisons’ fall season and now they will focus their energy on preparations for the spring over the coming months.
