DELAND, Fla. – The Lipscomb men’s golf team finished sixth out of eight teams at the Stetson/CFSC Invitational at Victoria Hills Golf Club, Tuesday.
The Bisons shot 47-over par as a team, hitting a three-round 911 (306-307-298). The Bisons finished ahead of Florida Atlantic and Florida A&M, and behind Atlantic Sun foes Florida Gulf Coast and host Stetson.
Junior Blanton Farmer earned his second top-10 of the season, carding a 54-hole 222 (74-78-70) to finish six-over par, tying him for seventh place. His final-round 70 was Lipscomb’s best single-round score of the tournament.
Junior Alex Cox joined Farmer in the top-20, tying for 14th with a three-round aggregate of 226 (76-75-75) for his second top-20 of the fall.
Sophomore Ryan Terry finished 24th, shooting a three-round 232 (79-76-77), putting him at 16-over par for the tournament. Rounding out the scoring for Lipscomb were freshmen Paul Kleine-Kracht (17-over 233, 77-77-78) and Nate Johnson (18-over par 234, 80-78-76).
Florida Gulf Coast won the team event, shooting a combined six-over par 870 (294-283-293). Stetson’s Sam Ryder won the event with a nine-under par 207 (70-68-69); he was one of only two players to shoot under par in each round of the tournament.
This concludes the fall portion of the men’s golf schedule.
