NASHVILLE, Tenn. – When men’s soccer senior Garrett Pettis decided to ink his name in the Lipscomb record books, he did it in style.
Entering a mid-October home contest against North Florida just four goals shy of tying the LU career record of 32 goals, Pettis decided to blister the Ospreys and post four tallies in the first 30 minutes of action. Those four strikes also put Pettis’ name in the record ledger as he tied former Bison Scott Mason for most goals in a game.
The Elizabethtown , Pa., native went on to Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week honors as well as being named to the Soccer America National Team of the Week. Pettis would also claim the Lipscomb career record outright later in the season with a strike against Mercer for his 33rd career goal.
The first-team All-Atlantic Sun selection capped off his career as a Bison by signing a professional contract to play for the Harrisburg City Islanders of the United Soccer League (USL).
