Tuesday, October 16, 2012 CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.-The Lipscomb women's golf team trimmed eight strokes off their first round score as they completed the final round in the F&M Bank Austin Peay State University Intercollegiate Tuesday. Lipscomb improved play from the first round to the final with a combined 650, carding a 329 in the first round and a 321 in the final. They moved from eighth place to finish the tournament tied for sixth with Belmont University. Savanna Schubert led Lipscomb in the first round carding a 75 and continued to lead the team, finishing tied for 13th, with a final round score 82. Also in competition was Sami Khan, who brought in a first round 83, improved her second round with an 80 for a combined 163, tied for 29th. Danielle Grace played a consistent game with two rounds of 82, a combined 164. Mackenzy Carter and Morgan Bucher both carded an 89 for round one. Carter cut down the strokes in the final round and finished with a 77 for a combined 166. Bucher improved slightly bringing in an 87 the final round, a combined 176. The F&M Bank Austin Peay State University Intercollegiate was held at the Clarksville Country Club, a 72- par course over 5,960 yards. The Lady Bisons will hit the greens again Nov. 5 for the Holiday Inn Express Hatter Classic in DeLand, Fla. |
